We have built a hub of resources that help better tell the story of Punjabi, Sikh and South Asian culture(s) & history, both at source & in the diaspora, in addition to other communities and scenes that have influenced me & my artistry.

These resources were curated to improve accessibility to the history, especially to a younger generation and/or an outside audience who may lack the cultural context required to fully appreciate or be aware of these influential stories, art forms & language.

I chose to curate a selection of resources in each category rather than share the entire database to avoid information overload & disengagement. The current links will be archived & new ones added every few months to allow them to be digested appropriately.

This is meant to serve more as an introduction or starting point, rather than a comprehensive guide. My hope is that others may be similarly inspired & engage with these cultural influences, as well as to encourage the practice of documentation & education.

I’ve also curated two playlists with all of my favourite Punjabi folk & classical renditions, with the YouTube playlist focussing on live performances. Open in another tab & save to your own accounts for future use. I hope it provides a fitting soundtrack to the resources hub!

Click on each tab below to view the curated content by format, which will be regularly updated. All links are either free to view, or on major public platforms which are readily available. For content that is in Punjabi we have selected platforms that provide English subtitles.

This resource was compiled by Yung Singh with additional contributions from Rupinder Kaur Waraich & A.S Kullar.

Please note - The views of the original authors/artists/directors & their respective outputs are not necessarily that of my own.

We cannot take responsibility for any content hosted on a 3rd party site. Please do so at your own risk & abide by any content or age warnings.

Although every effort has been made to ensure the content in this hub is appropriate,  and balanced & accessible, there may be things we have missed or overlooked. If you think that is the case, or if you have any other feedback or contributions, please get in contact with me at enquiries@yungsingh.com.
